Q: I am currently abroad. I've found I am unable to load some of my favourite sites. Can VPN be of a help in my situation?
In general, yes. In particular, it depends on which country is your favourite site allows to access. So, if this site is in USA, you can use our US-based VPN service.

Q: Is this service like an anonymous proxy?
The VPN service is much more than a proxy. You will have it enabled for all programs you are using, not just for a browser. You will have also your traffic encrypted, which will improve your security.

Q: Is my traffic limited when I use your service?
No, we do not limit traffic usage.

Any firewall or router should allow outgoing TCP connections on port 1723 and allow GRE (protocol type 47) traffic passthrough.

Q: Is it possible to test the service prior to purchase?
Yes, we provide a test account. Once you get validation e-mail at your inbox and follow validating link, you will receive test account information. Please note, you will not be able to browse internet or use IM programs on the test account. It is provided just to test your VPN connectivity.

Q: PPTP test account not working. How to investigate where is the problem?
First of all, double check your account settings. Sometimes it is possible to mix up letter 'O' and digit '0', I (upper case 'i') and 'l' (lower case 'L'), etc. Then, switch off your firewall and antivirus software and make a try to establish connection. Check your router (if any). It should have an option like 'PPTP VPN Passthrough' enabled. If this does not help, please contact us and provide detailed information (e.g. your operating system version, router model, connection type). We will advise you on how to provide us more information, so we will be able to perform detailed investigation.

Q: How to configure the router to work with PPTP?
Some routers have an option called something like 'PPTP VPN Passthrough'. It should be enabled. Note, that not all routers are compatible with PPTP VPN.

Q: Is it possible to have higher speed using VPN?
In general it is not possible to have higher speed than that of your channel. However, it is possible to have better speed for some sites than you have usually. This issue may occur because you have better connectivity with our server than with the site, so the traffic is not routed by the default route from and to your computer.

Q: Why internet connection speed degrades for some sites using VPN?
There are several reasons on that. First, encryption takes some time. Second, connection speed depends on transit nodes between your network and a VPN server. These routes are not constant in time and can change even several times a day. Sometimes there is a speed loss on some transit node ("bottleneck"). VPN service stay fast, but connection speed may degrade for some users for these obvious reasons. Third, such "bottleneck" is also possible between VPN server and destination node (e.g. when you notice that some, but not all sites are loading slowly). We cannot prevent these issues as well as fix them. Finally, if you are located too far from a VPN server, you may encounter such problem when browsing your local sites. This is because the network traffic may travell around the Earth from a user to a VPN server and then back to destination host.

Q: Why TCP port 25 (SMTP) is blocked for outgoing connections?
We block this port to prevent spamming activity. Sometimes the user does not know he has malicious programs on his computer that send spam through the network. As the result, that IP address appears in black lists. To prevent this we blocked TCP port 25 on our service. There are three ways to overcome this: You may use our SMTP server to send mails. You may request to unblock certain servers for your account. This is free of charge. Take into consideration, that labour charge may be applied in case of abuse or blacklisting. You may request to unblock SMTP port completely. Contact us if you really need it. We will request a deposit to cover possible charges in case of abuse.

Q: Which is the default ports configuration?
All ports for incoming connections are open. Port 25 closed for outgoing connections. Please contact us if you need to have it opened.
